Can I use my Apple SuperDrive or an external CD/DVD drive with this docking station?
No, the USB-A ports on this docking station are designed for data transfer and charging only. They do not support optical disc drives like the Apple SuperDrive.
Can I connect a monitor using one of the USB-C ports on the dock?
No. Please note that none of the USB-C or USB-A ports on the docking station support video output. The only video output port is the dedicated HDMI 2.0 port.
I connected a new SSD to the dock, but my computer doesn't recognize it. What should I do?
If your SSD is new, it may need to be formatted first. We recommend formatting the new SSD to either "exFAT" (for compatibility with both Mac and Windows) or "APFS" (for Mac-only use) using your computer's Disk Utility tool before use.
Can I use the USB ports to charge my devices and output video at the same time?
The USB ports support high-speed data transfer and charging, but they do not support video output. Video is handled exclusively by the HDMI port. Charging and data transfer will function independently of the video output.
