The magnets on the back are great for phone use. (Works fine for Android as well.) I don't know if it was a defective cable I got, but the included cable did not get full speed. Using another USB-C cable I have gave me higher speeds, so I just threw away the included cable. I can't speak for full 10Gbps speed, but this almost matches the top speed with this SSD in my other faster reader.
The speed is fast, I'm talking seriously quick transfer speeds. It's made a huge difference for shooting 4k video, which is what I mostly bought it for. No more running out of space mid shoot! The magnet is strong, holds on really well, which is awesome for on the go filming. It's small and easy to carry around too.
I wanted a quick way to get photos off my phone and make more space on my wife's iPhone when we were away from home, and this works. It's plastic and cheap, but it does the job quite effectively. I have another more expensive enclosure that is faster, but this is already very fast and I don't feel bad letting it bang around in my backpack.
This is a cool little device to stick to the magnet on teh back of your magsafe phone. Has a slot for a built in nvme drive, and then a few ports available as well to plug in other devices and/or charging usb cable.
Instead of a built in storage, this is an enclosure so you can put whatever size drive that makes sense for you, and able to increase the size with just a new nvme stick.
This M.2 enclosure is a great option if you're looking for portability and MagSafe compatibility. I mainly got it to stick to the back of my phone for recording directly to the SSD, and it works perfectly for that. Compact, convenient, and a solid pick for on-the-go storage and media work! ??????
